The CC-100R/W features a 1-3/8″ nut width which is nearly 1/8″ wider than our standard Cripple Creek nut width at 1-3/16″ and even more so than any comparable model from other makers in its price range. Not only did we increase the nut width, we improved the design of this Cripple Creek model altogether. The rolled brass tone ring and tension hoop are much thicker than previous models producing an increase in pot assembly mass – remember, you buy a banjo by the pound! We also included one of our very own and newly designed Terminator tailpieces. The Terminator tailpiece is probably the most advanced tailpiece on the market offering a straightline string configuration, quick change string capabilities, a heavy-weight construction that wont bend over time. The 5th string nut is located in line with the 5th fret allowing for accurate intonation for those who fret notes on the 5th string, and we also slimmed up the neck for effortless playability.
